Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products or processes including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards. Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods. Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams. May provide support to product designers by providing information related to manufacturing capabilities or guidelines to improve manufacturability of designs. Leads and manages kaizen/lean improvement events and other improvement activities. Keeps skills up-to-date through classroom training, seminar attendance or self-teaching. Travels to customer and/or vendor sites as required. Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. | ||||
